Train Wreck

Arguably, Sarah Mclachlan’s composition can be considered one of her best. The song begins:
“Would your love in all its finery tear at the darkness all around me until I can feel again until I can breathe again”

At first listen, the song can be considered as average and possibly worthy album filler. As the lyrics progress:

“Cause I'm a train wreck waiting to happen waiting for someone to come pick me up off the tracks, a wild fire born of frustration born of the one love that gets me so high I've no fear at all."

The song communicates the desire to be loved and needed. As one reviewer from Amazon.com writes: “Train Wreck, which alternately begs for and celebrates love.” The song would have a near ending saying:
“From your mouth is all that I wish the mercy of your lips just one kiss until I can breathe again so that I can sing again”

The song is not for listeners who have a 2 minute attention span. It needs time to grow. Sarah Mclachlan is one of the many composers who have this style. She does not create a song/album for the general audience. She would let the prospective audience find her songs using introspection and patience. Train Wreck has a style germane to introspection and the listeners letting the song grow on them. Hence, it is viable to say that Train Wreck is one of her best songs.
